Mastigum Speed
Quick Drying Dual Component Elastic Bitumen Mastic
Cat. No. – Component A – 232, Component B – 233
Mastigum Speed is bituminous elastomeric dual component sealant for quick drying. The product consists of a paste component (component A) and a powder component (component B). Mastigum Speed offers superior waterproofing properties, flexibility and elasticity in a wide range of tempertures (-10°c to 100°c). Application is simple and easy, required no heating. The quick drying properties of Mastigum Speed allows performance of sealing through flooding test at the end of 36 hours from completing the application. Mastigum Speed is also suitable for application on vertical surfaces. It is applied cold, and in neither toxic nor flammable.
Application
Mastigum Speed is used to wateproof basement walls, foundation floors, showers and patio floors (prior to tiling).
Mastigum speed is used also for waterproofing of roofs, in combination with Multigum

Method of Application
General:
Before application, clean the surface thoroughly to remove all dirt. Roll with cement mortar at all wall-floor seams.
Preparation of the components for application:
Pour the powder component (B) into the paste component (A) slowly and continuously, constantly mixing the paste component with a mixer mounted on an electrical drill at slow turning speed.
Mix the mixture thoroughly for 5 minutes, until a smooth paste free of lumps is obtained. From this moment, the product can be applied for up to 90 minutes from completing the mixing process. Do not wait any longer to avoid thickening of the paste.
Sealing Procedure:
To waterproof bathrooms & shower floors prior to tiling:
- Apply a coat of Mastigum Primer, using 300 gr/sqm, over horizontal surfaces and the rolled seams. Allow to dry 1 hour.
- Apply a coat of Mastigum Speed on the horizontal surfaces and rolled seams. Use 1.5 kg. Of Mastigum Speed per square meter. Allow to dry for 2-3 hours.
- Apply a second coat of Mastigum Speed. Use 1.5 kg. per square meter. Allow to dry for 12 hours.
- Fill in sand and lay the tiles, or lay ceramic tiles directly onto the sealing layer through adhesion.
To waterproof small patio floors prior to tiling:
General:
The sealed infrastructure shall be a stable concrete infrastructure and not foamed concrete (light concrete).
To waterproof small patio floor prior to tiling:
General: The infrastructure shall be a stable concrete infrastructure and not foamed concrete (light concrete).
- Apply or spray a coat of Mastigum Primer using 250-300 gr/m², over the horizontal surfaces and the rolled seams. Allow to dry for 1-2 hours.
- Apply a coat of Mastigum Speed on the horizontal surfaces and the rolled seams. Use 1.5 kg/m² of Mastigum Speed.
Allow to dry for 4-6 hours.
- Apply a second coat of Mastigum Speed, 1.5 kg/m². Allow to dry for 12 hours.
- Apply (or apply by brush) a third coat of Mastigum Speed, Using 1.5 kg/m². In case this is the final coat, Allow to dry for 5 days (without rain) prior to tiling. In case there are additional coats, allow to dry for 6-8 hours.
- In case of patio floor bigger than 10 m², apply forth layer of Mastigum Speed, 1.5 kg/m². Allow to dry for 5 days (without rain) prior to tiling.
- In case of patio floor bigger than 15 m², sink Polyfabric (polyester fabric) in the fresh material between second and third coats.
- In case of bigger patio floors, advise with the producer.
- Fill in sand and lay the tiles, or lay ceramic tiles by direct adhesion onto the sealing layer.
To waterproof basement walls:
- If the basement floor was sealed with bitumen membranes, apply low heat over the sheets to deposit the dirt and bring out melted bitumen. Apply a coat of Mastigum Primer (in quantity of 300 gr/ m2 ) over the basement walls prior to apllying Msatigum Speed.
- Apply a coat of Mastigum Speed on the surfaces. Use 1.5 kg/m2 of Mastigum Speed. Allow to dry for 2-3 hours.
- Apply a second coat of Mastigum Speed using 1.5 kg/m2. Allow to dry for 2-3 hours.
- Apply a third coat of “Mastigum speed” using 1.5 kg/m2.
Allow to dry for 3 days. - Spread a geotextile sheet in weight of 200 gr/ m2 over the waterproofing layer and than spread protection and drainage membranes such as Bitudrain T-15” prior to covering.
To waterproof concrete roof or old bitumen membranes roof:
General:
In case of concrete infrastructure, it should be a stable concrete and not foamed concrete (light concrete).
in case of oil bitumen membranes roof, remove loose aggregate particles off the roof. Rinse intensively the roof to remove the mud and wait until completely dry.Check that gutters are in good working order, that walls and floor meeting corners are rounded, and verify minimum slopes of 1.5%.
a. Apply a coat of Mastigum Primer using 250-300 gr/m², over the
horizontal surfaces and the rolled seams. Allow to dry for 1-2
hours.
b. Apply a coat of Mastigum Speed on the horizontal surfaces and
the rolled seams. Use 2.5 kg/m² of Mastigum Speed.
Allow to dry for 4-6 hours.
c. Apply a second coat of Mastigum Speed, 1.5 kg/m². Spread a
polyester fabric (Polyfabric) on the fresh Mastigum Speed until
it become totally sticking. Let it dry for 3 days.
d. Apply Primer MS , 300 gr/m², on top of the dry Mastigum
Speed, let it dry for 1-2 hours and then apply 2 layers of
Multigum (blue+white), 1.00 kg/m² each.
